Professional Staff

Nancy Kirkpatrick, BBA, MA, LPC, LMFT, NCC, Executive Director
Ms. Kirkpatrick is a licensed professional counselor, a licensed marriage and family therapist, a national certified counselor, and a Military Family Life Consultant (MFLC). She joined the center as Executive Director in January 2012. She works with individuals, couples and children. Her specialties include Marriage and Family, Pre-marital, Issues of Betrayal, Child and Adolescent Problems – including ADHD and developmental issues. As a trained MFLC, she supports the unique needs of Military service command units, troops and families.

Stacie Hildebrand, M.A., LPC, LMFT, Clinical Director
Mrs. Hildebrand is a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist. She is working toward being a LPC approved Supervisor. She has been with the center since 2001 and was named clinical director in 2003. Her specialties include chronic illness, couples and family counseling. She works with adolescents, adults, couples and families.
   

Ann Inabnet, M.A., LPC, LMFT, NCC
Mrs. Inabnet is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a license professional counselor and nationally certified counselor. Mrs. Inabnet has been with the center since 1991. She is an approved LPC supervisor. Her specialties include infertility, women’s issues, life adjustments, grief, depression, and anxiety. She works with adults, couples and families.

Nonie Caruthers, M.A., LPC, LMFT, Interim Executive Director
Mrs. Caruthers is a licensed professional counselor who has been with the center since 1993. She is interested in the developmental issues individuals, families and couples face over the life span. Her specialties include anxiety, depression and women’s issues – menopause and wellness. She works with adults, couples and families.

Wavely Cunningham, M.A., NCC, LPC
Mrs. Cunningham is a licensed professional counselor and Louisiana qualified divorce and custody mediator. She is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, anger management, women's issues, difficulties in adolescence, and working with individuals who want to successfully resolve custody issues and property division. She works with adults, couples, adolescents and children, as well as families.

Mary Young, B.S., M.S.W., LCSW, BACS
Mrs. Young joined the Center in 2011.  She is a licensed clinical social worker and a board approved clinical supervisor.  Her specialties include geriatric, end of life and grief therapy. She works with adults, couples, adolescents and children, as well as families.

Ross Githens, M.A., LPC, LAC,
Mr. Githens is a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor.  His specialties include addiction recovery, advanced sobriety issues, grief, marital and premarital counseling.  He works with adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Eric Carlson, M.A., Ed.S.

Mr. Carlson received his M.A. in Counseling and his Ed.S. from Louisiana Tech University. He has been in private practice in marriage, family, and individual therapy since 1982. In 1984, he developed the Men's Group as a service of the YWCA Family Violence Program designed to assist violent and abusive men to gain an understanding of the dynamics of their violent behavior and develop lasting alternatives to this behavior. The 1st and 26th Judicial Districts and Caddo Parish Juvenile Court has recognized Eric as an expert on domestic violence.    

Consultants

Guy Brannon, M.D.
Dr. Brannon serves as the psychiatric Consultant at the Center. He is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of medicine. Dr. Brannon is the Director of Clinical Research for the Brentwood and serves as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at LSU heath Science Center.

Fr. Guido Verbeck, M.Div.
Fr. Verbeck is a very important part of the center. Guido meets with the staff twice a month to facilitate the counselors and staff growth group.  He also serves as Rector at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Shreveport, LA.

Reverend Bryan McDowell
Reverend McDowell, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church Shreveport, serves as the Centers PTSD seminar speaker.  He has trained the staff in the PTSD 12-Steps. Rev. McDowell (www.fpcshreveport.org) is a 1970 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot for combat search and rescue; has worked at the Shreveport Vet Center as a Readjustment Counselor; and volunteers to help veterans in the church and in the community.

 

Reverend Todd Mallory
Reverend Mallory is a Pastor in Greenwood, LA and Bethany, TX serving with the United Methodist Church, Navy Reserve Chaplain in Ft. Worth, TX serving with the US Marines, and bridge builder between clergy, congregations and the Samaritan Institute. The Clergy and Congregational Care Program is a trusted place for help with: coaching, consulting, education, and dialogue grounded in faith.
   

Administrative Staff

Jean Baldwin, M.A., LMFT, Education Consultant
Mrs. Baldwin is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She has been with the center since 2002. She provides staff development and educational workshops for the community. Topics include healthy relationships, dating abuse, domestic violence, conflict resolution, parenting, stress management and communication.

Belinda Kennon, M.B.A., Community and Public Relations Rep.
Ms. Kennon  is responsible for developing and implementing fund-raising programs, connecting with organizations, congregations and businesses,  and media relations. She also manages various community relations, special events, and fundraising projects and is always looking to recruit and train volunteers to support the organizations mission.

 

Barbara Peterson, Administrative Director
Ms. Peterson is the voice you hear when you call the center. Ms. Peterson has been with the center since 2004. She is responsible for client intake, data entry, and various administrative duties.

 

 

Cindy Babson, Finance Administrator

Mrs. Babson is responsible for financial duties at the center.
